The  Western Wall Heritage Foundation was established in 1988 with the objective of conveying to all segments of the Jewish people the values inherent in the heritage of the Western Wall, to preserve and develop the Western Wall and its Tunnels, and to develop educational frameworks that make Jews everywhere feel closer to Jerusalem. They are also the people who can help you arrange a Kotel Bar Mitzvah.
The Western Wall Heritage Foundation is involved in physically maintaining and renovating the area of the Kotel.  Their work includes expanding the Western Wall Plaza, preserving the stones of the Wall, and preparing the Western Wall Tunnels for the close to 3 million visitors.

The Foundation works in conjunction with other government organizations, religious authorities, and archeologists in the continued exploration of our past through meticulous excavations. The Western Wall Heritage Foundation seeks to make that connection come alive by reminding us all that we are linked to each other, to our heritage, and to our Jerusalem.

They put out a  Bar Mitzvah brochure which provides information on:
  • How to get to the Western Wall and where to park
  • Planning the Day
  • Seasons at the Western Wall
  • Preparatory materials for the Bar Mitzvah child
  • The Bar Mitzva Center at the Western Wall
  • Prior to the Bar Mitzvah
  • Prayer times and the service
  • Various customs
  • Men's and Women's Sections
  • Information about the prayer service and the Torah reading
  • Lending of tefillin (phylacteries) and tallit (prayer shawl)
  • What Should You Bring From Home for the "Aliyah", Going Up to the Torah?
  • A person who accompanies, assists, and explains the prayer service and putting on the tefillin
  • Option of providing a chazzan (cantor) to lead the service and read the Tora
  • Refreshments
  • Touring the Western Wall Tunnels
  • Having the Bar Mitzvah Child Lead the Tunnels Tour
  • Certificate  
There is an on-line registration form to fill out to register for a Bar Mitzvah at the Kotel.

There is no charge for having a Bar Mitzvah at the Kotel and the Western Wall Heritage Foundation can provide you with volunteers who will help you with all aspects of your Bar Mitzvah at the Wall.
